5 Valentine's Day Dessert Recipes

Valentine’s Day is around the corner! This means it is time to bring out those pretty festive dessert recipes. These five recipes are sure to impress your significant other on this special day. This holiday filled with love is the perfect excuse to splurge a little.

1. XXL Chocolate Cookie


For this recipe, you will need:

  • Unsalted butter
  • Granulated sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Eggs
  • Pure vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Dark chocolate chips 
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 F degrees. In a bowl, mix the softened butter and sugars with a fork until well blended. Mix in the egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Add these ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix to combine. Add chocolate chips. Roll the dough into a large ball and place it on the center of a parchment-lined baking sheet. Press chocolate chips into the top of the cookie and add sprinkle. Bake for 14-15 minutes.

2. No Bake Strawberry Cake

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Graham crackers
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Heavy cream
  • Banana
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla
  • Salt

Directions: In a bowl, beat powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt with heavy cream. Beat until the cream mixture holds stiff peaks. Spread a thin layer of cream mix in a 9x13 pan to coat the bottom. Add a layer of graham crackers on top of the cream mixture. Spread a heavy layer of the cream mixture over the graham crackers and top with a thick layer of sliced strawberries. Place graham crackers on top of strawberries, then heavy cream mix, add a layer of sliced bananas.

Repeat the graham, strawberries, cream layers one more time, and you should reach the top of the pan. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or for best results overnight until the graham crackers are soft. Top with a few sliced or whole strawberries. Serve chilled.

3. Strawberry Fudge

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Strawberry frosting
  • White chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Directions: Line an 8x8 pan with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Pour the white chocolate chips into a microwave safe dish until melted. Once the chocolate chips have melted completely, stir in the strawberry frosting. Pour the fudge mixture into the baking dish and add sprinkles to top. Let it set in the fridge for 2 hours.

4. Chocolate Covered Strawberries

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Chocolate chips, semi-sweet, milk chocolate and dark chocolate all work
  • Coconut oil

Directions: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash the strawberries, and pat dry completely using a paper towel. Add the chocolate chips and coconut oil to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second increments, stirring until soft. Pick each strawberry up by the leaves and dip it into the chocolate mixture until it almost reaches the top. Rotate the strawberry to make sure all sides are coated. Then, lift the strawberry and shake off any excess chocolate. Carefully lay the dipped strawberries on the baking sheet, and repeat. Let the strawberries sit until they are completely dry or refrigerate for 5 minutes.

5. Raspberry Mouse

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Fresh raspberries
  • Sugar
  • Lemon juice
  • Unflavored gelatin
  • Cold water
  • Heavy whipping cream

Directions: Place the raspberries in a food processor and puree. Strain the seeds out— Transfer puree to a large bowl. Stir in sugar and lemon juice. In a saucepan, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let stand for 1 minute. On low heat, stir until gelatin is dissolved. Add gelatin into raspberry mixture and stir. Refrigerate until slightly thickened. Beat mixture on high speed until foamy. Gradually add cream while beating until thickened. Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours, until set.
