4 Summer Smoothie Recipes to Try

With the heat of summer upon us, a great way to cool down is through a smoothie! Most smoothies are loaded with vegetables or fruits and fiber, which makes them a great addition to your summer meal plan.

When you add on to your normal fiber intake, it can lower the risk of chronic illnesses and can increase your overall health. There are other benefits that come along with drinking smoothies too, like helping prevent dehydration, boosting brainpower, and controlling cravings.

Ingredients:

16 fl. oz. coconut water, chilled

1 banana

½ avocado, peel and pitted

½ cup packed kale

⅛ lemon, juiced

1 pinch of cayenne pepper

    Ingredients:

    2 tbsp. peanut butter

    1 cup frozen berries

    ⅓ cup oats

    ¾ cup almond milk

    1 tbsp. agave (if peanut butter does not have added sugar)

      1 fresh, cracked Thai coconut

      ½ papaya

      2 tbsp. of soaked goji berries

      ½ cup parsley

      ½ medium frozen banana

      3 dates

       

      Extra Directions: Soak chia seeds in blender liquid for 10 minutes before blending. This hydrates them.
