6 Anti-Aging Superfoods

Your skin is the best indication of how well you're treating your body. Your skincare routine, your sleep schedule, and your diet all play a big role in how your skin looks.

Eating large amounts of sugary or greasy foods can make the collagen in your skin actually break down a lot faster than if you're eating healthier foods. The breakdown of collagen in your skin can lead to signs of premature aging, inflammation, and increased free radical damage.

We all love to splurge on a little chocolate here and there. Dark chocolate specifically has many benefits for your skin. It contains antioxidants and fatty acids that help to prevent the breakdown of collagen, fight wrinkles, and reduce inflammation. It can also help to soothe blemishes, reduce redness, and improve your overall complexion.

2. Spinach

Any leafy greens are ideal for building a healthy body, but spinach can also provide your skin with anti-aging benefits. Spinach is high in Vitamins A, C, and K which all work together to keep your skin healthy. Vitamin A helps combat inflammation and improve cell turnover, while Vitamins C and K work to promote and protect collagen.

6. Tomatoes

Tomatoes are high in lycopene which is basically an internal sunscreen for your skin. It can protect you from UV radiation, sunspots, and even aging. They also have astringent properties to help reduce excess sebum production, reducing your chances of getting breakouts.
