3 Dips for The Big Game that are a Touchdown!
Celebrating the big game is certainly different this year, but at this point, we have become professionals in being flexible and learning new ways to celebrate!
No matter how, or where, you are celebrating this championship game, there needs to be some delicious dips. Dips are one of my favorite staples to snack on throughout the big championship game. Plus, there are many different kinds, from healthier versions to a delicious dessert dip.
1. Peanut Butter Football Dip
For this recipe, you will need:
- Butter
- Cream Cheese
- Peanut Butter
- Vanilla Extract
- Powdered Sugar
- Mini Chocolate Chips
- Sprinkles
- Frosting
Directions: Cream butter, cream cheese, and peanut butter until mixed. Mix in vanilla. Add powdered sugar, and mix until combined. Mix in chocolate chips. Turn out the mixture on a large sheet of waxed paper. Use your hands to form into a football shape. Place the waxed paper onto your serving plate. Cover in sprinkles or chocolate chips, pressing them into the surface a little so they stick. Pipe on the laces using frosting and chill until ready to serve. Serving suggestion: pretzels, animal crackers, cookies, a spoon.

2. Spinach and Artichoke Dip
For this recipe, you will need:
- Sourdough Boule
- Extra-virgin Olive Oil
- Unsalted Butter
- Garlic Cloves
- Artichoke Hearts
- Baby Spinach
- Kosher Salt
- Cream Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese
- Black Pepper
- Chips for Serving
Directions: For the Sourdough: Preheat oven to 350°. Cut top of the sourdough boule. Using your hands, scoop out bread from the inside of the loaf. Tear bread and top slice into pieces. Place the torn bread and bread bowl on a baking sheet. Toss torn bread with oil and season with salt. Coat inside of bread bowl with remaining oil. Bake until the edges of the bread bowl are golden and crisp, and torn pieces are browned.
For the Artichoke Dip: Melt butter in a large saucepan. Add garlic and cook, stirring often, until very fragrant. Add artichokes and cook, tossing, until well coated in butter. Add spinach and salt and continue to cook, stirring and folding often, until spinach has wilted. Add cream cheese and cook, stirring constantly, until melted. Add Parmesan and pepper and stir until melted and creamy.
Transfer dip to the bread bowl. (If it doesn’t all fit, serve the remaining dip on the side or refill the bread bowl as it gets eaten.) Top with Parmesan and a crank of pepper. Serve with toasted bread pieces or chips of your liking.
