4 Ways to Celebrate International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is a globally recognized day that celebrates women's achievements and advocates for women's rights worldwide. We as women have faced many obstacles, but we have also made incredible strides in society. Even so, there's still a long way to go.
Show your appreciation and support for all the amazing women in your life and in your community today (and everyday).
This year’s theme for International Women's Day is #EmbraceEquity. This theme is based around women collectively taking a stand to show how critical it is to understand the difference between equality and equity. This theme is aiming to get the world discussing how “equal opportunities are no longer enough.”

2. Acknowledge the amazing women in your life.
Whether it's your grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, friend, or whoever, sometimes a word of encouragement is all you need to lift their spirits and brighten their day.
Let them know just how much they mean to you and how much they've helped shape you into the amazing woman that you are today.
3. Support women-owned businesses.
Make a direct impact in your community by shopping at women-owned businesses. If you're not looking to spend money, there are still other ways you can support them. Post their business on social media so more people can learn about them and support them too.
4. Donate to a charity.
Donate to a cause that supports women, girls, and allies for gender justice. There are many different organizations out there that help in many ways, from helping women survivors of war to helping advance gender equity through education. Women for Women, Equality Now, Women Alliance, and Rise Up, are just a few of many amazing charities you can donate to.
