5 DIY Deep-Conditioning Hair Masks

Shared By: Ava at Noche Skincare

I love mornings when I have on one of my favorite outfits, my skin's glowing, and all seems right with the world! Sometimes though, I look up after getting ready, and see that my hair is 13 different types of, what I call, a “hot mess.”

As I have aged, my hair has thinned out quite a bit and needs more care to stay strong and moisturized, so I often make DIY hair masks at home. That way, I know exactly what I am putting on my hair! I love feeding my hair the nutrients it needs from completely natural sources.

If you are like me, and in need of a natural hair mask to liven up your split ends, here are five of my favorite recipes. They are scrumptious!

First, here’s a quick guide on the different ingredients you will see:

Egg: Delivers protein to enhance shine and softness.

Mayonnaise: Softens and seals in moisture.

Olive oil: Moisturizes and can help to prevent dandruff.

Honey: Reduces breakage and strengthens hair follicles.

Coconut Oil: Reduces breakage and nourishes the scalp.

Almond Oil: Treats hair loss and strengthens hair.

Banana: Improves manageability and shine.

Cinnamon: Stimulates hair growth.

Aloe: Works to smooth hair and repair dead skin found on the scalp.

Avocado: Rejuvenates and moisturizes lifeless hair.

Dig into the recipes now…

1.) The Egg, Mayonnaise, Olive Oil, and Honey Mask

  • 1 egg

  • 2 Tablespoon of mayonnaise

  • 1 Tablespoon of olive oil

  • 1 Tablespoon of honey

Combine together all these ingredients. Apply it throughout your hair before applying a shower cap, and leaving for 30 to 60 minutes. After, wash and condition your hair like normal!

2.) The Coconut Oil and Honey Mask

  • 3 Tablespoon of coconut oil

  • 1 Tablespoon of honey

Combine together both ingredients. Apply it throughout your hair before applying a shower cap, and leaving for 30 to 60 minutes. After, wash and condition your hair like normal.

3.) The Banana and Honey Mask

  • 1 ripe banana (mashed)

  • 1 Tablespoon of almond oil

  • 1 Tablespoon of honey

Combine together all ingredients. Apply it throughout your hair before applying a shower cap, and leaving for 30 to 60 minutes. After, wash and condition your hair like normal.

4.) The Aloe and Cinnamon Mask

  • 2 Tablespoons of aloe gel

  • ½ Tablespoon of organic cinnamon powder

Combine together both ingredients. Apply it throughout your hair before applying a shower cap, and leaving for 15 to 30 minutes. After, wash and condition your hair like normal.

5.) The Avocado and Honey Mask

  • ½ avocado

  • ¼ Cup mayonnaise

  • 2 Tablespoon coconut oil

  • 1 Tablespoon honey

Combine together all ingredients. Apply it throughout your hair before applying a shower cap, and leaving for 30 minutes. After, wash and condition your hair like normal. For longer hair, you will want to double the recipe.
